Sugar and dairy-free chocolate bark

***WARNING- may induce chocolate COMA*** LOL

I've been craving for chocolate to the point that I even cheated and ate something with sugar.  I had a horrible stomachache after that!  I found a recipe online and sort of modified it for my taste. So here it is.

totally addicting!

I didn't really measure much, I just eyeballed everything like I normally do.  I apologize if this confuses some people but this is how I roll.  I'll do my best with my approximations.

1/2 cup organic virgin coconut oil
1/3 cup agave nectar
1/2 cup coconut shreds
1/2 cup crushed walnuts (you may use any nuts you like or even fruit)
9 Tablespoons of Hershey's natural unsweetened cocoa powder

Melt organic virgin coconut oil in the microwave (or double broiler if you have it).  After it melts, add all the ingredients and mix.   Spread evenly on a parchment-lined baking dish.   You can use a spatula to spread it evenly.  Freeze for about 20 minutes or until it sets.   Break them apart and eat!

  1. This looks and sounds delicious! Too bad I'm having a cold sore breakout right now or I'd make some for my upcoming romantic weekend. Also, I know you are doing GAPS now and weren't back when you did this recipe, but honey could be subbed since agave isn't GAPS "legal". :-) But wow. Sounds so yummy, and I even have all the ingredients on hand. Tempted... I have organic cacao powder... mmmm, but chocolate and nuts are high in arginine and feed the cold sore virus, so I must abstain for now. Definitely going to try at some time in the future! Thanks for the recipe and the great photo!

  2. Hi Starlene! Thanks for visiting my blog, I love your blog, it's so fancy! I just found it yesterday. Yeah I wasn't on GAPS yet at this time, though I was Paleo before. I might make this with honey soon, I've made Reese's cups that are GAPS legal but have not posted the recipe here yet, I used honey instead of agave.

I hope you feel well soon so you can make chocolate bark! What brand of organic cacao powder do you have? I just used regular plain Hershey powder on this one, wish I had organic. Thanks again!
